Dear Domino,

I consistently receive your magazine one month late.  My Holiday Gift Guide arrived, rather conveniently, on December 31st.  My Thanksgiving copy landed on my doorstep in early December and my October issue arrived just in time for Thanksgiving.

I have contacted your customer service department, while the gentleman I spoke with was beyond nice, the issue remains unresolved.  He was sure it was a problem with my post office.  I can assure you it is not.  The address on my subscription is correct and has remained the same through the duration of my enrollment (it arrived in a timely manner for the first month or two).  I have subscriptions to 7 different shelter magazines and they all manage to arrive on time so I’ve ruled out postal sabotage as an option.

I do enjoy your magazine but, despite the fact that I have paid for 2 years in full, I am really only enjoying it online.  If this issue remains unresolved any longer, I will continue to only read the online version and will request a refund for the full subscription amount.

Best

Karly

I unfortunately agree wholeheartedly. I -adore- Domino, but its so much work to get it. Sometimes I just want to buy it in the store, at least they get it on time. I’ve called them so many times and all they do is offer extensions but this has been a forever problem and they always insist that its a postal problem.

I forgot that Diana bought me a subscription as a gift… I think I forgot because that was MONTHS ago. I guess I’ll be lucky to receive an issue before they go under.

Weirdly enough, I can pick it up at my local Borders in New Zealand within the first week of the month it’s published. Maybe it would be quicker for me to send you a copy from down under, Karly. If you don’t mind paying $16.99 per issue plus postage.

Sounds like it may be an issue of a new or lax postal carrier. this happened to me recently also and I agree that it is very frustrating to receive magazines so late. It is up to your individual carrier to make sure you get your mail in a timely manner. I would file a complaint with your local post office about your carrier and see the situation improves.

I called them to. I ordered Domino 2 months ago and still have not gotten 1 issue but they sent me an email stating “THIS IS YOUR FINAL NOTICE” So I called and said..”Excuse me! I dont even have an issue yet”…she says you should get it anyday now so just pay it when you want to. I still havent gotten the dang magazine!I cant stand having a subscription to any magazine and I go to the store and BAM there it is!

Hell hath no fury like a designer scorned. How dare they. Good to know. I have a subscription ready to be activated online but I am now second guessing my decision to go for it. As far as your potential post office issues, had you plated a nice batch of black-eyed susans accompanied by a Christmas card made from scratch and passed it along to your postal carrier you might not be experiencing this monstrosity. Love you like I love my new Ralph Lauren bath robe. See you soon..Patrick

I know, I know. I have the same damn problem with my subscription. It always shows up a month behind and it is so annoying. I love the mag, but clearly this is an issue with them and not the poor postal service. I blamed my new postman at first and now feel bad as he was just showing up with what they gave him.

I also heard a rumor that these issues might be do to a possible shut down of Domino. Not another shelter mag!

Wow, this is really interesting feedback everyone, I’m glad to know that I don’t have a curse, although I’m sorry to hear that you all are having similar problems. I wasn’t really comfortable approaching my post office about the matter as my mailman is fantastic, he’s easily the nicest, most reliable mailman I’ve ever had and I don’t want to jinx him.

Now… if only someone from Domino would chime in

  9. I think they (Dominos’)think Texas is as far from Domino HQ as Australia. Here we always get International issues a month or so behind. so by the time I receive, ive seen it all online anyway.
My other annoyance with them is when I tried to change my address for postal deliveries – I was told this would take atleast 10 weeks to process? Thats a hellava loong time to type in a new address. Maybe its one department per letter or something?
Personally I think there best stuff is all online anyway and the stuff thats not is just advertising.

Tell ‘em, girl! My sister still hasn’t recieved one issue from the free subscription I signed her up for when I renewed mine. Sometimes I just get mad at Domino because it’s for rich people. ;)
