While sifting through the New York Times slideshows yesterday, I came across a room from this slideshow that made my heart skip a beat:

The object of my love and affection?

The Patrick Townsend Orbit Light.  At only $300 I feel like I could give it a really good home if only the internet would put the black one up for sale.  All I can seem to find is white and grey.

On a side note, I realized that yesterday I did not link to either of the NYT slideshows I wrote about (thank you btw for all the amazing feedback, you dudes rock!) You can read about the yurt here and the sleepy time boring pad here.

See you dudes Monday!

DUUUUUDE! Do not start with me about that light fixture.

I’ve had it on my New House Wish list for months. I want it for the master bedroom, but the damn ceiling is too low.

I get a little pissy about it on a daily basis.

    You’ve seen this sweetness, right?:

It’s sad when $300 sounds like a bargain for a light fixture. The black definitly is a must-have. See you tomorrroooowww, foxy!!

Awesome! I love that chandelier! It totally doesn’t go in my house, and I just bought a gigantic black glass one for our dining room, but I want it. It makes such a statement in black. Hold out!

Andrea, until you pointed it out , I didn’t even realize that I DO think $300 is a total bargain for a light fixture. But maybe it is a bargain if the light fixture doubles as art!

I’m with both of you Andrea and Barchbo… I’ve never ever considered a $300 light before (Erin can confirm that I wince at anything over $20) but Barchbo’s right, when it doubles as art, $300 doesn’t seem so bad at all.

  5. but does it come in gold???

I.Want.This. In black as well. If you find it, please, please email me. Everything in this room is stunning and covetable…the painted brick, the Eames chairs, that cute little black stump. Gorgeous room.

Not too much light if it’s on a dimmer switch!

It is on my wish list, too, due to that same picture! We must find it in black, y’all. And then we shall all have it.

  12. [...] Just a couple weeks ago I added this amazing Patrick Townsend Orbit Chandelier to my Wists as a potential consideration for the dining room chandelier. (I have 30 potential lighting fixtures bookmarked on Wists.) And whaddaya know, last Friday Karly from Design Crisis posted about her lust for the same fixture. [...]
