I am so. damn. tired. Yesterday I took a picture of my basketball sized belly so you could see that I’m headed into the misery stage, but I’m too tired to upload it. I even took pictures of my crazy curtain debacle but I’m also too tired to deal with that.

This is shaping up to be an exciting post. Let me spice things up a bit.

I am obsessed with every single thing in this room. I’m not sure I would be happy living here 24/7, but as a cozy library it KILLS. Those window treatments put all other window treatments to shame. The paint color and glossy built ins are ridic. The textile combo is absurdly good. And I’m going to steal that light fixture… as soon as I can figure out where it comes from.

This room by fellow Austinite Bailey McCarthy touches my happy place (visuals not necessary). The glow in the dark constellation wallpaper may make an appearance in the kid’s bathroom at our house.

GLOWS IN THE MF DARK, Y’ALL. If I were really brave, I would paper Ike’s ceiling with this bizness. But that sounds hard and I may have already mentioned that I’m tired.

Instead I think I’m going to just order this cute print for Ike’s room, glue some glow in the dark stars to the ceiling, and call it a day. (Thanks for the poster link, Katie!)

In other news, I might paint our bedroom this color:

Or maybe this color:

Dede Pratesi’s bedroom is pretty much my idea of perfection.

And as if this post weren’t already disjointed enough, you need to head on over to MFAMB and check out the room Jenny Andrews just decorated for her precious kidlet.

Awesome real people decorating on a budget makes me SO HAPPY.

What is not making me happy is my curtain situation.

Still working on it. I don’t understand why this stupid room has to be so difficult.

Yet another trip to Ikea is in the works, and a trip to the West Elm outlet already happened.

Pictures to follow. Soon.

i had not seen the Pratesi bedroom yet! i really need those sheets/shams pronto, but they probably cost more than everything in my bedroom (assuming they are Pratesi). saw Sanders this past weekend & he probably thinks i am stalking you, but oh well, got some good paint chips! i cannot believe terra bella looks like that on your walls. i am learning so much about paint! tackling my bedroom next. ok, although you provide me with oodles of design entertainment, you need some rest! try not to obsess too much about the house & take care of yourself!!

  4. i would hug you so hard if i could reach you.

  5. oh!

and you and i are on the same page over that pratesi biscuit and biscuit tin.

her whole house is pretty much perfect.

  6. All these rooms are amazing.
Oh, and that light fixture is the Tony Duquette Sunburst chandelier, and it costs like a billion dollars. You up for a heist?

  7. yes to 1 and 2. where is the paper from? it might want to be in my kid’s bathroom, too, ya’ll!

the print will be super cute in ike’s room. 10 pts for katie.

your apricot bedroom color = my nursery color (nope, still not expecting. just planning the room like a crazy person do…). i proposed it for the master, but husband put the smack down on that one.

    fi’s room is b-e-a-u-tiful. naturally.

In case this is useful…I decided I had to have this bedroom as a point of inspiration for a bedroom in my house: http://www.designspongeonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/1_carol-2.jpg. (Full post here: http://www.designsponge.com/2008/04/sneak-peek-carol-of-basic-french-the-lyon-hideaway.html.) My first paint job was an abject failure, because I have orange-toned stained wood floors, which drove the paint color pinker. (Plus I listened to the dumb paint guy and bought satin, so it was screamingly bright. My current policy: bathrooms are satin, bedrooms are flat enamel.) I then re-painted in Behr’s creamy orange, and although it’s hard to compare reality to a photograph, I think I got the same ghostly apricot shade as in my inspiration.

Peach is way harder to select than I thought.

The light fixture is the Tony Duquettte collection at Remains. http://www.remains.com/designers/duquette/

I have swooned over that piece for years.

After coveting the RL constellation paper, I finally got a sample and its awesome. I’m trying not to pin more wallpaper until I actually bother to order samples of all the wallpaper I pin….is it weird to put glow-in-the-dark wallpaper in your LR or DR? Those are currently tapped to turn navy, so…..

  12. erin says:

Could be amazing in the dining room… Where did you get your sample? Do they have a 2 roll minimum?

  13. Mariana Maya says:

I know a guy who paints the constellation on your ceiling in glow in the dark paint… so if you wanted the date you were born or conceeived or whatever painted on your ceiling let me know- bet he would do it of r a flight, some home cooking and a nice bottle of al-ka-hol.

Okay, you have forced me to schedule a trip to San Marcos this weekend. I promise that I will still love you even if I leave empty-handed. :)

PS: Why is stuff for baby girls so sissy and annoying?

Really? Those curtains kinda make me hate life. I can totally appreciate the structured cornices though.

    I’m sleepy too. So sleepy.

I love the color of those bookcases! I’m looking into “factorydirectdrapes.com” for making some curtains for my dining room. I have many reservations about ordering drapes online and am reading a mixed bag of reviews. I’ve ordered a couple of fabric samples and am awaiting delivery. Will keep you posted.

  19. ROK says:

My sample came from your source–Tangletree, so I assume you’ve exhausted that. Although I think lots of small, local shops carry RL so you could have some luck there.

Got some Bradbury & Bradbury–quality stuff. CRAZY, but quality.
