Sorry for the late post today, yesterday was my wedding anniversary and the hubs and I went to dinner so I didn’t write my post last night. Bad! Bad Karly!
As promised on Monday, I’ve rounded up more office inspiration, let’s see if you smarty pants can guess what these pictures have in common:

So we’ve figured it out by now? Man, you guys are AMAZING! So, yeah, I love things en masse, cluster up just about anything and I’ll swoon. I have lots of colorful art in simple frames that is poised to be hung all about my office salon-style. Here are more inspiration pics

Ok, this isn’t quite the look I’m going for, but I do have a pair of antlers that might make the cut

As part of the magical “heirloom” collection my mother sent, I received a couple of pieces that are not unlike these. The giant gold guilded frames may or may not find a home in my office.

Ok, it’s a bit much. I also don’t like that couch or the stacked spools of thread.

Yes, I’ve shown you this before, but who can get enough of that table???? Oh, wait, I mean that clustered art????

Clean Cluster

Crazy Cluster!

Karly Cluster!
That’s me in my old apartment about 4 or 5 years ago. I won’t be revisiting the empty frames motif in my current space, I just wanted to show that the cluster art thing isn’t a new theme for me.

Crazy cluster looks like your high school bedroom.
True story, Ma. My love for clustered art goes back a long way
I like the clean cluster? I am a big clusterer but since having my living room painted I have a room with frames all over the floor since I am scared of making holes everywhere and changing my mind later…ugh
Awesome roundup, lady! I love the crazy chain table, and the thonet bench in clean cluster is yummalicious.
Empty frames are fun. PS, I like your shoes.
KP, please tell me you’ve modeled.
Oh, and NKP was trying to find out who the manufacturer of that chain-leg table is. I came up with zip-ola. Do you know who made that sublime piece?
Raina, you’re the sweetest!!!!! I never modeled but I love to hear that I should have
I’m not sure about the chain leg table, I know that my grandfather made a mailbox stand with chain that he welded that pretty much looked just like the table legs. I’m guessing the piece was custom. I would love to have Matt make me a chain-leg table it but he doesn’t like it (for shame!)
Amy, don’t fear wall damage, be sure to have some spackle and extra paint on hand and you’ll be fine, holes can be fixed in a matter of minutes. Lay out your art on the floor as you would on the wall ahead of time, that way you can play around with spacing and overall layout. Good luck! Keep us posted!
K-dawg – The last pic of you should be in a frame! Gorgeous.
I’m a cluster lover, too.
Happy Anniversary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ah yes, art walls. I love them too. The “crazy cluster” one looks like my dorm room wall my freshman year of college, so I guess the love goes way back.
That’s a great pic of you. And I thought it was funny that you had all empty frames except for the HORSE. You made exception for the horse!
First, happy anniversary! Second, that second photo is my current inspiration for my studio, too. And third, how photogenic are you? And you were years ahead on the distressed jean trend. Such a great photo!
Technical question: how did you get those empty frames to hang without wires or hooks showing?
Love your website and have been slowly but surely stealing ideas from it for months as I remodel my apartment. You have the best style, sooo not the typical cutsie, ecclectic, I-secretly-still-want-to-be-10 design blog norm. Finally, someone with cutting edge and glamorous taste! Thank you for the inspiration, and keep up the good work!
Welcome Allana! To answer your question, if i remember correctly, you could see some of the wires & nails, I chalked it up to creating more texture. You can also take the wires off and just either use those hooks with teeth on the backs of the frames or hand the frame directly on the nail. Since empty frames are pretty light, you don’t need huge nails. Several of my frames also had images (like the horse) some just had pieces of graph paper, and some I even hung backwards because the backs were distressed and i liked the texture.
Also, thanks for your compliments!!!! Erin & I started the blog as an antidote to a lot of the sugary-sweetness that’s out there. We’ve since met lots of other ladies with fantastic blogs that shun the “secretly-still-want-to-be-10″ (great term!) mentality. Most of them comment here, I recommend that you check them out
1. K-pants, you are obscenely hot.
2. I have the empty frame motif going on in my apartment right now; somebody in my old office building was throwing out a bunch of great, chunky old gold frames, which I grabbed and lugged home. The eventual plan is to find art for them and have it matted to fit, but for now I’m happy with their blank chunky goldness on my mantel.
