Remember this wallpaper?

It’s the lusciously lickable, preppily psychedelic Pheasant by Twigs wallpaper that I was talking up last week.

In the interest of continuing theme Wallpaper Week, I started to shoot my sample collection in our hallway for your viewing pleasure… but then I went and ordered yet ANOTHER sample that I feel I simply must wait upon before asking your opinion.
I am going open a crazy lady wallpaper sample shop when all this is said and done — the kind of shop with dusty lampshades and random cats patrolling pee stained darkened corners. In other words, I have a problem.
While I sort out my OCD issues, I decided to shoot and post all the colorways for Pheasant because they aren’t available anywhere online. I tried my hardest to standardize the colors and density, so I think the pictures are fairly accurate. This may not be the most exciting post, but hopefully it will be useful to someone out in the world.

If you like, call the nice folks at Twigs and order some samples for free. Rolls are 100% gorgeously hand printed (from a 1980s pattern!), so you have to trim the selvedge yourself…
Cold sweat, people. That’s scary stuff.
But worth it — this paper is deluxe.
Also it reminds me of the time I “got drunk” and went to the renaissance faire to watch weird people make marbelized paper.
That alone puts it in front runner status, right?

Wow they should pay you. Nice shots. Marine, orange and peach are my personal faves. What colors are you leaning towards? And this is for upstairs hallway?
PS- you are hilarious.
I still like Pines by Little Greene for upstairs, so I’m thinking the brown for the downstairs entry. It’s fairly neutral on the wall since the pattern is so small.
Otherwise, I love Marine. Super pretty.
Lovely…don’t think you can go wrong here. Brown looks like an excellent neutral, and I love the green bits mixed throughout.
Love IT! I think I may back my bookshelves in Marine or Blue (or…any of them). At $99 a roll, that is downright affordable. But I’m too terrified to trim wallpaper for reals. I’m about to hit buy on Anthroprologie’s Blazing Poppies–its fake wallpaper and no, I’m not a renter. Just terrified of trimming and paste. And I think brown will be nice…all classy, in that tortoiseshell kind of way.
Gold and Orange are my faves. I heart Flamestitching!
BTW, one does not actually have to trim both edges of hand-blocked paper. You can just trim one edge and overlap over ‘tother. That’s what I do, anyway, and have never had a problem with it, nor have I ever heard someone recoil in horror and say “You didn’t trim the edge!!!”
The orange is pretty awesome in person. Good to know about trimming… was it tough to get a clean cut on the edges?
Reilly, that paper is awesome! But I will say that hanging it actually sounds more difficult than non-woven paste the wall papers (like cole and son). We did our old hallway in that and it was SO EASY!

The trimming is easy — I use a yardstick and a straight-edge box cutter utility knife thing. Also as an overlapper, it’s no big deal if the edge isn’t super straight, because I’m not butting the edges together. Before I learned how easy it is to wallpaper, I hired someone to do a room (the downstairs powder room — leopard paper) and he butted the seams and they’re peeling in one place. I learned how to do it (from a friend who was horrified that I’d paid someone to do something so easy) and always overlap and nothing is peeling. I’m far from a perfectionist, but my method works fine for me. Glob the paste on and then sponge off the extra.
Hmmm…the post is inspiring. Most impressive: that your husband hung it with you. I don’t think my marriage could endure such a project. So I’ll have to hire a day laborer or relative or something. And The Woods is on my list of wallpapers I would put anywhere that stays still, so I could just copy you 100% That wouldn’t be weird, right? I’ve been considering those Scalamandre Zebras for the kitchen, too. Luckily no one I know reads blogs or gets Flor catalouges so I’ll seem really awesome. And now, thanks to your commenters, I’m off to youtube this overlapping business. And find out which manufacturers go with the paste-on-wall method.
Erin! You are making me so happy — I just love marbled anything. Anything. Especially wallpaper. And this wallpaper is pure deliciousness! Just love it. Orange is my favorite. So, so beautiful.
Peach is the sex
i’m with erika- love the orange and the gold, but hell, they are all pretty awesome.
imma get me some samples!
I have no idea what the hell a selvedge is, but you’ll work it out, I know!!
I’m with Naomi, they should pay you!
PEACH for light and airy; MALACHITE for rich and dark.
I wish these swatches had Fuck Yeah Ryan Gosling captions.
Hey girl, I just want to hang out in your bathroom while you put on makeup. Not that you need it.
The Malachite colorway is amazing. I have an alcove/bar/closet thing that I was going to paint black but this has me reconsidering.

Holy smokes! I knew that paper was gorgeous, but up close it is truly phenomenal.
I think your search is over. Seriously, how could you possibly go wrong!
Orange!
Love it.
Can I talk with someone about it?
Must I use a decorator?
How and where can I buy it?
beth
Hi beth, just contact twigs and order directly through them.
Good luck!
I have a customer inquiring about this paper and would like to order. How do I secure for my client?
Do you have the phone number for Twigs? I live in Los Angeles and don’t think they are represented here. Thank you very much.
Hmmm, the link used to go to Twigs’ domain but it’s expired. I’ll email you the rep’s email address.
This paper is simply the best! Can you direct me to the local representative in Washington, DC? Many thanks, Erin!
I would also love it if you could forward any contact info for NYC. Thanks so much!!! Best, Jenny
