A while back my pal David John of the uberfantastic blog You Have Been Here Sometime casually informed me that he had worked for Jamie Bush, architect and designer extraordinaire. I shouldn’t have been the least bit surprised because David John is ultra talented, super educated, and lots of other important stuff. And then I started stalking Jamie Bush… dude has some genius solutions for odd spaces, and he knows how to work materials like nobody’s business.

Just when I think I’m over Mid Mod, this comes along to remind me that I’m only over erstatz Mid Mod — the ugly lovechild of fleabitten avocado green upholstery and big box espresso veneer.

I would happily sell my soul to live in a place like this — half baked neotrad aspirations be damned.
I never said I wasn’t a fickle beast.

I am not joking when I say that when I saw these pictures, my chest tightened. Every single one. Especially the living room and the hands…but EVERY ONE makes me feel a mixture of longing, envy and excitement. Wait, now I’m actually a little nauseous. Thanks, Erin.
whaaaat? love all of these spaces & can i tell you how much i want a lotus pendant? when someone does it right, mid mod blows me away. love how molly luetkemeyer does it too!
Wow! Absolutely love the carved chair next to the piano…then just the window gloriousness of the last picture. I need to win the lottery now..sheesh haha!
That third picture makes me feel funny in my no-no place.
I’d seen/lusted over many of these pictures before but never knew they were all from the same dude. Thank you for the schoolin and decor porn!
i can’t say it any better than Rosie did….DYING. slowly.
The eighth picture down-BAM! That’s what I want in my bathroom-we are modeling it RIGHT NOW!!
Any guesses as to what that tile is? Marble; granite or limestone? LOVE.
And I agree-that dude is pure genius. LOVELOVELOVE…
that bathroom! (pic 4)
and the lotus pendant!
yumyumyumyum
I love his work! Some of these looked so familiar to me that I took a walk through my archives. Lo and behold I did a post on him a few years ago. But that amazing entry is new-to-me. Holy shit, the orange door, the art, the lighting, and that console are searing a hole in my soul. Also, that bathroom below might just be the end of me. Big exhale. Good stuff.
Dear Lord, I need those lotus lights. And that driftwood coffee table. Lurve those mix of materials.
Penny rounds on the wall. PENNY ROUNDS ON THE WALL.
I have to agree with you, these are amazing photos. The last one, at dusk with the patio and the windows, phenomenal. You can always get another soul…
