Today is the day! At 10 am we close on New House, and Old House goes on the market. I have ulcers all up in my mouth and I’m no longer sleeping. So if you want to buy this house and put me out of my misery, leave a comment and I’ll email to confirm your stalker free motives. I don’t want no one sneaking in at night and stealing all my good shoes.
You’ve seen the public parts of our house. Now I’d like to introduce you to the private parts — warts and all. I crack myself up! Anyway, here is where you find out that we have actual bathrooms. We even have bedrooms, most of which have never been featured on this here blog. That’s because they were half finished and covered in laundry drifts, but I scrambled to make it all kind of prettyish.
So here it is. Cross your fingers, y’all. We’ve got to sell this house. Pronto.

And there you have it. I’m getting kinda teary eyed over our little house — lots of wonderful things happened here.
Some bad things may have happened, too. Like choosing lampshades that are too small, and like forgetting to remove the scale from our bedroom before I photographed it for the MLS.
Oh well. If you didn’t already know, size matters.

Your yard looks enormous and the house looks beautiful. I didn’t even see the scale, I was too busy ogling your chest/credenza. Big Day! Good luck and I’ll be performing real estate voodoo chants for you.
Your house is rad. I would consider purchasing it, but I suspect it’s out of my price range.
I had to look at the photos again and again before i found the scale, so no worries there! Your yard looks crazy big. If you don’t sell it within 10 years, we’ll definitely buy it, because that’s when we’re planning to move to another house a bigger yard
can you wait that long, maybe?
Best of luck!
I didn’t see the scale either. Your house is absolutely perfect to me. Seriously. I missed the first part of your tour so just went back and looked. Has your home been featured anywhere before because it definitely should be. I’m going to pin some of your images. Hope that’s okay. I don’t have too many tips for selling (we sold our last house about 5 years ago when my son was 1 and my daughter was 4 – crazy trying to keep it clean), but I don’t think you should have a problem. Good luck!!
Thanks, everyone!!!
The yard IS enormous by city standards — almost 1/3 of an acre. Too bad the drought and watering ban turned all of our “grass” brown
These are the best MLS photos I’ve ever seen.
Oh and the master bedroom has come so far! Love it’s newest incarnation.
I loooove your house. I’m sure the new one is even better, but the old one is amazing. Your MLS pics are probably the most artistic I’ve seen. Wish I lived there – I’d buy your house!
Erin,
What a fabulous house. You styled it beautifully. Oh my goodness.
I love your little one’s bedroom. How lucky is he to have the best digs in town.
I see that the wonderful caramel couch has a club chair relative. Lucky gal.
mb from Dallas
your home is beautiful and will sell quickly! the kitchen will sell it all by itself. hmmm.. does that make any sense at all? anyway, quit worrying now!
OHMYGOD YOU TOTALLY OWN A NEW HOUSE RIGHT NOW

Looks so incredibly fabulous. Good luck…though you need none. Zero.
Oh, and BTW, I have the exact same horned beast sculpture…and it was also recently on bathroom duty (H’Goods, yes)?
Congrats on the closing!!!
Can you post a link to the listing?
It actually won’t be up until this evening, and I don’t think I’m going to post a link on the blog. Do you live in Austin? Want more info? If so I can email you.
Scale or no scale, these are the prettiest damn MLS photos I’ve ever seen. Wishing I lived in Austin right now.
Erin, you’re house looks great! I’m sure everything will go super well and you’ll sell it in no time!
Hey Erin! Good luck! I actually have some friends looking for a house, and would LOVE a link to the listing. I’m not sure if it’d be in their price range, but it’s worth a shot – it’s totally their style!
bajesus woman! it looks SO good!!! so so good. It’ll sell fasttttttttt. like woosh-fast.
I bet the offers will start rolling in any second now!!!

I really love the Interior. It’s a great feeling for my eyes.
The second bathroom is brilliant!!!
Hi, I saw your apartment therapy post and just love your house. My husband and I recently moved to Austin from Chicago and have started shopping around for our first house. It would be so wonderful to find somewhere with great deign details already built in! Also love the trees. Could you please send me the MLS listing or some more info (price, location, etc). Thanks!
I live in Austin – got referred her from AT – what’s your MLS #?
Hi, your home is beautiful! Do you mind sharing the brand/color of the paint you used in your master bedroom? I’m looking for just that sort of gray for my downstairs! Thank you
Thanks, Sarah!
It’s Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter. Good luck!
Your house looks lovely, and I’m in the market for a place in Austin. No doubt you’ve already had a ton of interest, but if it’s still available, can you send me a link to this listing? Thanks!
Your home is so lovely – I hope it sells quickly. I’m sure it will. Gorgeous space, gorgeous property!
gorgeous! love how calm it feels!
Sniff. I’m so sad. Sad that you are leaving, but more sad that I cannot buy your house! Good luck, sweet neighbor. I have a feeling it’s gonna get snatched up pretty damn quick.
Oh Ann, I know… I felt like that for sale sign was staked through my heart instead of the ground. This is the saddest I have ever been about moving, and we have moved around a lot.
We’re going to miss your sweet sunny faces, but you’ll just have to come visit the new house since it’s only five minutes away
When the photographer showed up (super late and basically devoid of social skills) to shoot our last place for the listing, I planned to do a last-second visual sweep of each room before he shot it, so I could fix any messes/weirdness that had happened while we were waiting on his late arse. He beat me to the master bathroom, where I had neglected to hide all the detritus in our shower. The listing went up with a photo of a lovely double shower, with slate tiles and a rainfall shower head…full of a nasty jumble of ugly bottles, a squeegee, a couple of the kids’ toys, etc. I am still shamed. And mad at that guy.
Also, your exterior shots are waaayyyyy better than his. Love the way you used the sun!
Good luck with the sale, I am sure it will be easy-peasy. Savour this time while you are real estate barons with multiple homes.
I love the brightness of the red rug in the master bedroom
I can’t see any warts!
Yes I’m in Austin and house shopping. Please send MLS# or link.
Thanks!
Erin, it’s stunning! I have a weird renewed addiction to real eStalking and yours would be a house I’d just obsess over. I love how you’ve punctuated all the clean lines with just the right brass- or carved- or mirrored-something. You’ve got mad skills! I just want more, more, more.
I love your design and I live in Austin. Can you email me the listing? Thanks!
