In the most recent issue of Architectural Digest I spied not one but two Yves Klein pigment filled coffee tables…

After my long running love affair with all things YKB, I kind of thought the thrill was gone, but in the right context Yves Klein Blue still sings. I love the edge it brings to the warm and quirky apartment of Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.

But I’m not feeling it so much in Donny Deutsch’s marble white mausoleum.
BIG ass week, y’all. Stay tuned for some serious news!

Love the first shot! AD really has changed; I’d never have associated that look with them.
I never get tired of that colour. Donny Deutsch is playing it way too safe though. Arm chair done in the same fabric as the lone burgundy scatter cushion? Well done the carpet matches the drapes, but it’s all a bit bottle blonde. Oi vey, dude needs some Wearstler in his life—a misplaced bust, large scale scribble and Dora the explorer colour combos.
Oh I noticed those tables too and immediately thought of you! I still love YKB. Agree with Pieter about the Deutsch place. And way too much advertising-reference art (yeah, I get that that’s his bground) art. Def needs a Wearstler overhaul.
Ok. Spill it. I want to hear the news!!
Psshaw did YK Blue ever go away. I think not. I do find it odd they would do two of the same iconic table in one issue though.
PS- off to do some “investigative research” right now. IE look at your email
I love me some YK blow table any time.
So glad they’re popping up again.

I noticed the same thing and pointed it out to my husband who really didn’t seem to care as he was doing his fantasy football draft. Couldn’t agree more about the Deutsch pad. No soul. What’s with themes in these magazines lately? Elle Decor featured 3 John Dickinson pieces in the same issue.
Hi there Erin,
Thanks for your message on Head over Heels. My house was posted yesterday by Nelya.
So glad to see your blog. I have bookmarked it. Excited.

News please! Love the coffee table…love the little mushroom next to it even more.
Yves Klein Blue is a classic that’ll never go out of style! However, same accessory or furniture piece always makes me think that the same stylist was used and just brought it with them to add some life to the space. (Not that the first house needed help).
The blue is breathtaking – I might be underwhelmed by other coffee tables for a while after seeing this. Totally makes sense it would be in Inez van Lamsweerde + Vinoodh Matadin’s apt – their work is awesome.
NEWSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!! Now please.
I noticed that too and thought it was strange that they didn’t mention it, as if we wouldn’t notice!
Totally love the YK blue. Just recently purchased the print and had it laminated on a wood. I’ve been looking for the perfect art for my bedroom and this is definitely it. You can see it here:
