It’s Monday. The gods in all of their infinite wisdom have decided to bless me with a filthy house, no food in the fridge, and a computer in revolt. Also we leave for Hawaii in two days. The gods be crazy, yo. I may have to take matters into my own hands.

I’m working on my serenity now pose. It looks a little something like Mike Myers’ fantasy sequences in Wayne’s World, but maybe a little more like this room.

If this is back to school day for you or your little person, then you need a steaming dose of serenity even more than me. Let’s hold hands and sing kumbaya and try to survive this day, friends. Or we could just take this post to its logical conclusion.

Happy Monday. Try not to die.

How can you have worries when you get to go to Hawaii in two days?

I love that room and am deathly envious of that family-I have this issue of this magazine and apparently they are architects (with a trust fund!I know this since I am one-and you make peanuts)-oh and they have five kids (definitely have a trust fund) living in London.

I am deathly envious of your Hawaii trip too but the New Order video made up for it!

Love that song! That one and an Echo & The Bunnymen one immediately make me want to step-ball-change. They were my favorite aerobics numbers! And, yes, my headband matched my electric blue shiny tights.

Have a super time in Hawaii! So, so jealous!

Why have one Castiglioni lamp when you can have two? Why have one Cherner chair? Why have one Barcelona chair? Sorry, sorry, I’m carping because I’m jealous.

I still listen to Power, Corruption & Lies pretty regularly.

    Enjoy Hawaii!

My first “cool” concert was New Order (touring with PiL and the Sugarcubes) a million years ago. Right on!

I love the top picture in this post and seriously want to make my living room look just like it. Any idea where I might be able to find that rug? Or any good rug for that matter — I’ve never shopped for rugs. REALLY want to find this blue and white one.
