You guys know that I could never paint a color bolder than gray on any of my walls but that doesn’t negate my burning desire to hang out in rooms with some seriously bold color. Right now I’m being seduced by these moody emerald walls. Emerald? I know, go figure.

Now I’m not going to let a pesky little detail like my current inability to sit on that couch stop me from digging this room. As soon as the little bambino pops out I can roll all over that yellow beauty.

Hmmm, this yellow and emerald combo looks familiar, but that couch is decidedly more practical given my current condition.

In person: could be awesome, could be scary. I just don’t know. I hope the towel is clean.

Kinda emerald, right?

And if, like me, you can’t paint your walls green and, unlike me, you have a gragillion dollars, you can add the sexiest accessory known to mankind to your room via this Dian Von Furstenburg rug. Psst, I found this over at If the lampshade fits and have been dreaming of it ever since. Think I can sneak it onto my baby registry?

I painted The Pea’s bedroom ceiling this color to balance out her hot pink and orange wallpaper – it’s fantastic!
P.S. Thanks for the link love, KP.
I painted my bedroom green, a mossier version than these — even the ceiling — and it has become the most amazing space! And the green, tiled bathroom, above, is definitely awesome.
Oh boy. My parents have an emerald room in their home and I have always loved the color. This looks like my modern twist on the color!
I was going to paint my small windowless office emerald and turn it into a little jewel box. And then I got lazy and didn’t do anything at all. Maybe someday. Still love the look.
Isn’t your office closet emerald green?
Funnily enough, I just got something pretty similar to that DVF rug for my own nursery. Only $200 for a 5′x7′, 100% wool rug on eBay, and the shipping was free!

The seller claims it’s a real Persian rug, and it certainly does not have a mass-produced feel to it. Very plush. I am totally in love with it. The DVF one is truly beautiful, but I’d probably have a heartattack if baby goop got on it.
Gimme gimme green. I love these.
i am digging some of the green walls (#1 and #2)! but you can have that rug!
It’s quite interesting effect with gold… oriental touch, nice!
Gorgeous color, especially the tone in that first pic. And I’m crazy for those green Heath Ceramic tiles. I remember when that house was featured in Dwell, it’s pretty spiffy, I think you’d be safe. :0)
I want an emerald green bathroom. Just gotta find the right paint color…
